Drakka is aware that viking clothing was a status symbol for Vikings. During the Viking era, a social hierarchy existed and the highest-ranking individual, typically the one with the most silver coins, could obtain the most beautiful and high-quality clothing. Vikings cared a lot about fashion, as it reflected the social standing in the community. The higher your social status, the higher the quality and display effect of your clothing. 

One might assume that the Vikings' clothing was merely utilitarian, dull, and uninteresting to match the typically dark and gray landscape in which they lived. In fact, their clothes were bright and colorful.

In addition to black and white, Viking clothing is also available in blue, red, yellow, and other hues. However, some hues are more difficult to acquire than others.

Vikings may have regarded red as one of their most prominent and significant colors, given that it was among the most prestigious and expensive hues of the time. What made the red dye so valuable was that it was extracted from plant roots that were not indigenous to Scandinavia.
